Tell us a little about yourself:

Joe: I was born in New Jersey. I attended the Pratt Institute in New York where I earned a B.F.A in Art/Graphics and Photography.

How many years have you been in retail and, of those years, how many have been with The Clotherie?

Joe: My sister, Susan, and I were owners/operators of The Boudoir, an exclusive lingerie boutique in Arizona for fifteen years. After closing our stores, I tested out a variety of retail markets before landing at The Clotherie in 2001.

What inspired you to pursue a career in men’s retail? What is your favorite aspect of working in men’s retail?

Joe: I was inspired to pursue a career in men’s retail because I love retail and I love shopping. I’ve been in men’s and women’s retail for a number of years. I not only appreciate a good eye, but I also value good taste and good service.

On your time off, what activities and hobbies spark your interest?

Joe: I enjoy working in my yard, shopping for gifts, and antiquing.

Over the years, what trends in men’s fashions have excited you the most and what do you see for the future?

Joe: I love that men and men’s fashion are no longer afraid of color and style.
